The central government has created a bench of senior judges and other state holders to prepare the seventh pay commission on 2014. According to the latest decision of the Centre Government, employees will get the increased dearness allowance in the salary of October month. Employees were getting 42% dearness allowance from the government till yet. But now they will get 46% DA in the salary of October 2023. Apart from this, employees will get the rest amount of the day from 1 July 2023 till 1 October 2023 in the salary of October month. The government has increased DA of the employees due to providence of 7th pay commission to increase DA twice in a year. So, the central government increases DA of their employees for January to June and July to December session. It’s mean, employees will get the increased DA from the salary of January 2024. The dearness allowance of the employees is calculated according to the all India CPI index. It is the dearness index which is maintained by the government of India for each month. So, the government has recently extended the 4% DA of the employees according to the AICPI.
Fitment factor in 7th pay commission
The fitment factor is a number which is used by the central government under 7th Pay Commission to prepare the basic pay of the employees. The government is following 2.57 fitment factor in the 7th pay commission. The government has multiplied the basic salary of the employees of 6th pay commission with 2.57. After that, the salary of all the Government employees of all pay bands have increased in the 7th pay commission. The minimum basic salary of the government employee was 7000 in 6th pay commission, and after calculating it to 2.57 the minimum message salary has increased till 18000. This is the big achievement of 7th Pay Commission to provide facilities of Government employees. However, now employees are demanding to increase the fitment factor again to provide an 8th pay commission.
8th Pay Commission
The central government has not modified about the implementation of 8th pay commission. But Central employees are demanding to increase the salary of Central Government employees by implementing the new Pay Commission.
