The government has announced that they will start the registration process for admission in the class nursery, KG, and standard 1 this upcoming November. This registration process is going to start for general category students in private schools.

Seat reservation in the admission process

Age limit criteria for registration of nursery, KG and class 1

The age limit criteria for children registration, as per the official notification is given below,

  • The children age must be 3 years old to get admission in pre-school (nursery)
  • Children aged 4 years can get admission in the KG standard (pre-primary)
  • The student having age 5 (as of March 31st) can apply for admission in class 1st

For children preschool, pre-primary, and class 1 are like the first steps in school. The age of children affects their learning capacity. As per the director of education notification, they are going to establish a monitoring cell in every district of Delhi. Admission criteria

The directorate of education has directed all the private schools to upload their admission criteria on their official websites by the time of 20 November. The department has also directed the schools to conduct a lucky draw between applicants (if there is a tie between 2 candidates) either by drawing a slip or conducting a computer-based draw. The draw needs to be conducted in the presence of the parents. And the school need to record a video of the draw.
